Winter time is here and we call that Getaway Season at the cottages. Lots of time for a couples getaway, family retreat or just gather some friends and hang out. No better place to do it than at your very own cottage by the sea with some lobster and homemade brown bread. Don't forget the beer, wine, rum, what ever you like. The town of Shelburne is just 10 driving minutes away.
    Lots of great coastline to travel down, deserted beaches to roam and many different restaurants to discover. As we have learned over the years, we don't take in the BBQ's either here at the cottages. Determined guests still enjoy that BBQ taste at the cottage (as long as the propane will flow in minus degree temps).
    Did I say lobster??? Everyone wonders why we don't have easy access to it here in the summer time. It's because it's not in season!! Just like swimming isn't in season here in the wintertime. There is no better reason to travel to the South Shore in the winter than to sample our finest. (been to Maine and doesn't even compare). Lobster is Shelburne County's pride and joy. Unfortunetly for our fishermen, YOU couldn't ask for a better price either!! In a era where, fresh, natural, organic, fat free (without the butter, of course) food is the craze, the answer is a nice red, juicy, full of meat lobster.
